Zinnia elegans ‘Oriole’ is giving serious sunny-garden energy. This is one of those zinnias that looks like it belongs in a beautifully relaxed Australian summer garden—bright, warm and completely unbothered by the heat.
The flowers are a gorgeous golden yellow with warm orange tones, carried on sturdy stems that make them brilliant for picking. They have that slightly old-fashioned, cottage-garden charm, but the colour feels incredibly fresh and modern.
And honestly, zinnias are the ultimate low-fuss summer flower. Give ‘Oriole’ plenty of sun, decent drainage and regular picking, and it will keep pumping out blooms. In a southern garden, I’d absolutely tuck it into a cutting patch alongside Cosmos, Ammi and Strawflowers for that loose, abundant, slightly wild look.
